Well, I can conclude that the Photo Connector works better with my Canon S2 IS. It still takes ages to transfer stuff, and I need to charge my iPod immediately after transfer, but at least it works.

Much more stable than it did with my Sony cam.

I just transfered 500 photos of 2000 x 3000 pix each from my Nikon D70s to my iPod Video 80GB with my brand new Camera Connector, and it took about a full hour - and afterwards the battery of the iPod was empty.

[...] On my recent 3 weeks vacation I bought an Ipod Camera Connector and used it with my Sony DSC-P150. After coming home I read elsewhere that this combination does not work stable - I had it working stable with a small change of settings and will explain how to do it the hope that other can make it work to.

[...] Sadly it looks like the iPod photo adapter is really a complete pile of rubbish as has been hinted at. On the outset it sounded like a good idea, turning your iPod 30/60Gb into a portable photo viewer and storage device, but the adapter is slow and klunky plus the player refuses to play anything but quicktime/mp4 movies. Oh well it was a nice idea - read the rest of the story over at eirikso.com. The iPod is pretty cool, but I can highly recommend the Archos AV400 as a good alternative to portable audio/video, plus as a wonderful device to dump photos on to in the field. [...]
