There are some rules, so group blogs like BoingBoing, Engadget, TUAW and TechCrunch are out… And because this blog is in english I’ll choose blogs in english. Sorry loRdx, Sverkeli, Espen, Andreas, Iacob and all the others… Here we go:

Fantastic blog about presentation skills and design. Look out for priceless comparisons and links to fantastic content. Not to talk about very good lectures.

2. Thomas Hawk’s digital connection
Fantastic photography, strong opinions and a lot to learn.

3. Buzzmachine
Jeff Jarvis talks about the media industry. Still very high quality. Still huge amounts of thoughtful analysis.

4. Seth Godin
Marketing guru and master of telling things clear and simple.

Instead, like a million organizations before them, defending the status quo is far more politically correct than change. So they stand back and let dinky startups with no natural advantages run like crazy.

Steve Rubel on how technology is revolutionizing media and marketing.

Naaaaah. That wasn’t too original. Big well known high quality blogs. These are essential, but what about the up and coming? The not so well known? Okay:

1. Happygolucky
Mr. Arnesen switched to English and shares thoughts on travel, photography and the internet. Pretty personal blog, but a lot of true marvels in there. Mr Everest up close, fantastic kite images and insane travel descriptions.

2. web 2.?
Even Aas-Eng on marketing and new media. About interesting campaigns and important business.

3. Herrklein
Lasse Klein designs fantastic lamps and tells you about television screens.

4. The Digital Society
You’ll not be overloaded with articles, but when Francis D’Silva writes something it’s good!

5. Jill/txt
Jill Walker on how people tell stories online. And so much more.

And why on earth haven’t you mentioned the truly excellent blog of Mr. Oyvind Solstad? Brilliantdays. Well, he is currently too busy publishing his exellent stuff over at NRKbeta. But no matter where that guy moves you should follow him.

So, Arnesen, Aas-Eng, Klein, D’Silva and Walker. Now you have to list your favourites. And you don’t have to do it twice, like I did here.

There are so many good blogs out there. I share stuff I find as I read it in my Google Reader Shared items. And please comment with stuff you find valuable.

I have done a lot of presentations lately and people keep asking me about recommended reading. If you want to start looking around in this strange world of blogs and long tail content, here is my list of 10 essential blogs and one with 10 essential media blogs. These lists are a bit old. I would add techcrunch.com, buzzmachine.com, micropersuasion.com, presentationzen.com and gapingvoid to the essential stuff.

My complete list of subscriptions in Bloglines is here, but right now I am experimenting with the updated Google Reader as my RSS-aggregator of choice. I’ll try to find a way to share the subscrition list here as well.

And, Technorati is your friend. Interested in marketing? Well these are the best blogs about marketing according to technorati. Play around with the search if you have other interests.

Lists, lists, lists… I feel them coming. I have already promised to give you my “10 most important softwares” list. Now, I feel a “10 most important gadgets” list approaching as well… The beauty of a personal blog is the fact that I don’t have any deadlines. But, these lists will be there, I promise.

It is very difficult to pick the 10 blogs that I would choose and stick to forever. That’s a list that simply doesn’t exist. It will be an always changing list. So, I’ll simply give you 10 blogs that I find very valuable right now (in alphabetical order):

“A directory of wonderful things“. Their own slogan says it all.

2. Brilliantdays.com
Never underestimate chief geek Oyvind Solstad. It was him that introduced me to del.icio.us, Flickr and Podcasting (way before anyone knew what it was). Of course he’ll post it on his blog the next time he finds something interesting.

3. Engadget
You don’t need any other sources if you want to know what’s happening in the world of gadgets.

4. IFTF’s Future Now
Yepp, future now. Insightful, intelligent and interesting.

5. John Battelle’s Searchblog
If something happens within the world of searching you’ll get it here first. And, because the world of searching is very important for the internet in general, you get some very interesting thoughts and reflections on technology in general. What would you expect from one of the founders of Wired Magazine?

6. kottke.org
Interesting stuff from already legendary full time blogger Jason Kottke. Design, technology, movies, music you name it.

7. Seth’s Blog
Seth Godin. Marketing guru and agent of change. Seth has an exeptional quality when it comes to explaining complex stuff in a dead simple and understandable way.

8. Slashdot
News for nerds, stuff that matters. If you want to know what’s going on in the world of technology this one is a indispensable classic.

9. Thomas Hawk’s Digital Connection
Intelligent insights on the world of digital media and photography.

10. WIL WHEATON dot NET: Where is my mind?
I don’t know exactly why but I really like ex StarTrek celebrity Wil Wheaton’s blog. It’s one of the more personal ones in this list, and you really don’t know exactly what to get. But the stuff you get is well written and interesting!

And yes, I have huge amounts of good blogs in my feed reader. I don’t know if these 10 are the best ones, but right now they are very valuable.
