Seems like May is the month for conferences. I have a pretty tight schedule, but if you’re in the area then drop me a line. This is my international presentations for the next couple of weeks:
Vienna, April 25 – 11th Roundtable Presentation & On-Air Promotion
Lucerne, May 8 – EBU Connect (link to PDF program)
Amsterdam, May 19 – THE 124th AES CONVENTION
Amsterdam, May 29 – EMBRACING NEW MEDIA IN YOUR PUBLIC RELATIONS AND CORPORATE COMMUNICATIONS STRATEGY
Where do you get these jobs from?
All of these presentations are stuff that I do as part of my job in the NRK. We do a certain amount of presentations like these due to the connections we get, the things we learn, the marketing value of telling people that we rock etc… 🙂
But I’m also doing a certain amount of paid presentations in addition to my work at the NRK. The main marketing point for these are the presentations themselves.
“I attended your presentation at blabla and wondered if you could speak at our event…”
But I also get quite a bit of gigs because of my blog. “We have been following your work for a long time and wondered if you would like to speak…”
So, my best marketing advice to get paid speaking gigs is to do presentations that people like and recommend to others. In addition to making yourself visible on the internet.
