So what’s happening?

For those of you subscribing to my RSS-feed you might have discovered a post that was posted and then deleted. I am sorry for the confusion. I am experimenting with the possibility of people guest-blogging to eirikso.com

I thought that letting people mail my blog through Flickr was a good idea. Maybe not. I will resolve this shortly and let you all know when I am ready to let some of my friends post to my blog and expand the content on eirikso.com

Sorry for the confusion. Now, that I have quite a bit of readers on eirikso.com I will put up a testblog to be able to test new improvements before I put them live.

So what’s happening?

Utilizing feedburner

I have just started utilizing Feedburner for my site. It is a great tool that let you add functionallity to your RSS feed. Get statistics for your RSS feed and in general help you with your syndication.

One example is the fact that it can make your feed look nice in any browser. Have a look at my feed here. Another is a bunch of predefined buttons for people to use when they want to subscribe. Look at the Yahoo, myMSN, NewsGator etc… in my sidebar to the right.

But, to make use of all the functionallity it is important that all your subscribers use the feed from feedburner.

So, here’s a wish:
All of you out there subscribing to my old feed:
http://www.eirikso.com/wp/index.php?feed=rss2

Could you please change your subscription to:
http://feeds.feedburner.com/eirikso

The old one will not stop working, and at some point I will make an automatic redirect to my new feed. But, for those of you that have a minute, please change to the new feed.

For those of you that is wondering what this RSS thing really is, have a look at my introduction to RSS.

I have added a new banner to the list of random banners.

TV Problem

It is based on an illutration I made for an article I wrote back in 1998 about the days when the computer industry will completely control your TV. I have used this illustration in countless presentations, and it is now more descriptive than ever…

In my home, I have choosen to let the computer industry control my TV. And, from time to time the person in the illustration could most likely be one of our family members. This is still new technology, and at some points I actually have to reboot my telly. Time will show when the systems are stable enough for people that are less used to bugs and crashes than we are.
